33rd MSCC Islamic Camp 2024
Please read this information in full prior to submitting your registration. MSCC is holding its 33rd annual Youth and Adult Islamic Camp at Camp Green Meadows on August 1 – 4, 2024. The purpose of this outdoor camp is to provide an excellent atmosphere for both adults and youth to understand Islam. It will also help us recognize the challenges, responsibilities, and opportunities for Muslims in America.
The theme for the 2024 camp is The Relevance of Islamic History Today.
The four-day camp offers a unique learning experience. The program consists of educational classes, interactive activities, recreational activities, and a nightly campfire. The day begins at 4:30 a.m. and ends with lights out at 10:30 p.m.
We encourage the entire family’s involvement, but children six and older may be sent alone if their parents are unable to attend. Children under six years of age must be accompanied by a parent. Females and males will be housed separately. There are no facilities for spouses/families staying together. Children ages four and under will be housed with their mothers, who are assigned one single bed only for themselves and for their children. There are no facilities for fathers to stay with their children.
The camp will be held under Islamic rules, meaning that Islamic modest dress is required, given the mixed-gender setting. Full headscarves are required for ALL women and girls. Jeans/pants must be loose (not sagging or low-rise) and shirts/blouses/etc. must fall below the hips.
Every adult attending camp and parents/legal guardians sending children to camp MUST sign the Permission and Release form.
Advance registration and payment are required in order to reserve a space at the camp. Space will be allotted on a first-come, first-served basis. There may be no accommodations remaining for those who try to register at camp. Please submit your registration by July 20, 2024.
Cell phones may or may not work at the camp site.
